PADDOCK

Ian Sharland:
I started working in my fathers’ Paddock shop in 1968. My tutors were master butchers that served only the finest quality products and believed in total customer satisfaction. I have tried to uphold my fathers’ philosophy of serving quality produce with care and consideration for our customers. I have added innovation to our product range in order to provide our customers with new taste experiences. I really do love my work!

Keith Sharland: After working in a local banking organisation I joined the family business in 1976 (crikey I'm getting old!), working alongside my father & elder brother, Ian, the 'founders', here at Paddock. Subsequently my two brothers and I took over the helm around 1984. We remain firmly committed to our fathers business philosophy of sourcing the best, producing the best, providing the best and offering the best service. Afterall, I believe we work alongside the best. Our many awards and customer testimonials confirm that we're not doing too badly, however there's always room for improvement and I'm always interested to learn of any customer feedback. The customer is number 1 in my book.

Nick Sharland: I began working with my father in Paddock 30 years ago. My early years were spent in our bakery learning the craft of pie making. My father always instilled in me how important it was to provide the best quality produce and to give customers the best possible service.

Nigel Sykes: I have been a butcher for 8 years (it's 28 really, but I don't want to give my age away!) and am a member of The Fellowship of Institute of Meat. From being top apprentice at Huddersfield Technical College I went onto manage shops in and around Huddersfield before joining Sharland’s in 2008. I like nothing more than sharing a joke or two with our fantastic customers, so why not come into the Paddock shop & tell me your latest?

Richard Ogden: I have worked in the meat trade for over 40 years from apprentice to master butcher. I joined Sharland’s of Paddock in 2005 having spent the previous nine years as butchery manager at Morrisons. I'm the straight man in the comedy team, but I do get my own back whenever possible!

Karen Sharpe: I have been a baker for 29 years and I joined Sharland’s of Paddock in February 2010. My reason for joining was quite simple…..Sharland’s care about their employees and their customers.

Karl Turrell: I’m Sharland’s ‘Man in the Van’ and have been since 2008. You might have seen me doing my rounds delivering to our restaurant and residential care home customers. Next time you do, give me a wave!


HOLMFIRTH

Denzyl Weavill: I'll post a little about me once I'm settled in!

Angela Saville: I joined the team in 2017 I'm now very much the 'old' hand at Sharland's Holmfirth. The working atmosphere is warm and friendly and our customers are marvellous. It really doesn’t feel like work! I left in December 2011 to give birth to our gorgeous daughter, I was so pleased when in December 2012 I was asked to comeback, it really doesn't feel like I was ever away at all! I just love it!
